Q: Can I use a scale after translation?

I am thinking of performing a study using an English scale which I found in a literature. I understand that I need to get permission from the author (creator of the scale) to use the scale. If I get permission, can I translate it and use the translated word?

Thank you for your question! As long as the target journal and author permit you to use a translated version of the scale (with a citation and a note that you've used a translated version), and the translation retains the intended meaning, this should be fine. All the best!
