His areas of interest are energy system analysis, energy planning, and energy economics. CRITERIA FOR PUBLICATION
Energy is truly a multidisciplinary journal: besides research related to such aspects of mechanical engineering as heat transfer, thermal science, and thermodynamics and broader topics such as energy modelling, integrated energy systems, and energy planning and management, the journal welcomes papers on related issues such as energy conservation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, electricity supply/demand and storage, energy in buildings, and economy and policy so long as the research is put into the broader context of energy. Four types of submissions are considered, which are listed below:
- Full-length papers report novel findings and usually run to 5000–7000 words.
- Reviews (7000–9000 words) are normally by invitation, although prospective authors are welcome to contact the editor-in-chief. Such enquiries should be accompanied by an outline of the proposed review, a CV of the author, a list of his or her publications, and names of possible reviewers.
- Discussions (1000–3000 words) are short commentaries on articles recently published in Energy.
- Book reviews (800–1200 words) are usually written by the journal’s panel of book reviewers, although the panel may consider submitted reviews. Prospective reviewers should contact the Editor-in-Chief first.

MANUSCRIPT REVIEW PROCESS
All manuscripts are first evaluated in-house. Submissions that lack originality, are seriously flawed scientifically, poorly written in terms of grammar or in poor English, or outside the aims and scope of the journal are rejected at this stage. Other submissions are sent to two subject-matter experts for review. Authors are expected, at the time of submission, to supply the names, addresses, and e-mails of three potential referees. However, the choice of reviewers rests with the journal.

Energy is part of Elsevier’s ‘Your Journal Your Way’ initiative, which does not impose rigid formatting requirements, including the style for citations and references, on authors in the first instance.
