Join us in celebrating Peer Review Week 2019!

Are you excited for Peer Review Week 2019? We definitely are! As you may know, Peer Review Week is a global event dedicated to peer review for the significant role it plays in scholarly publishing. The theme for this year’s event that spans September 16 to September 20 is Quality in Peer Review. During the week, this thought-provoking theme will be at the center of all events and conversations.

Editage is part of the organizing committee of Peer Review Week 2019, and we’ve planned several interesting activities all through the week. We’d love for you to join us in this global event.  

Here’s a quick look at some of the things that we have in store for you!

1. Exclusive daily updates on Peer Review Week

Stay on top of the all peer review-related discussions by registering for our daily email updates by clicking on this link. We’ll curate the most relevant stories and posts from various channels involved in Peer Review Week and deliver them to your inbox every day during Peer Review Week.   

2. Priority access to Editage online events during Peer Review Week

Don’t miss out on participating in the two interactive live events that we’re hosting:

Quality in peer review – digging deeper - In this webinar Duncan Nicholas, Vice-President of the European Association of Science Editors, will address how “quality” manifests in all aspects of peer review and answer important questions around the theme. Join Duncan on September 17 at 10.00 am EDT to broaden your understanding of peer review and learn about your role in improving the quality of peer review.

Panel discussion- Challenges in peer review and the way forward - Join us on September 20, 2019 at 8.00 am EDT for a panel discussion on the origin of peer review, the need for diversity of submitting authors, and peer reviewer training. The panelists include well-known industry professionals:

  • Clarinda Cerejo (panel moderator) – Editor-in-Chief, Editage Insights
  • Alice Meadows – Director of Communications, ORCID
  • Bahar Mehmani – Reviewer Experience Lead, Elsevier
