Q: What should I write in the email when submitting a manuscript to a journal?
I wish to submit my manuscript to a journal. However, I don’t know how to write the submission email. Can you please help me?
Firstly, congrats on completing your manuscript and making it ready for submission to a journal!
Now, what you are referring to is known as a cover letter. A cover letter should introduce your research to the journal editor, covering or providing salient points. Additionally, it should state why you are submitting to this particular journal and how you feel both parties – the journal and you – may stand to benefit from consideration of your paper. In short, the cover letter should aim to get the editor interested in going through your paper.
