Editage to offer research promotion services to Aptara’s SciPris customers under new partnership

(Nov 19, 2020) Editage, the flagship brand of Cactus Communications (CACTUS), a technology company accelerating scientific advancement, today announced a partnership with Aptara to offer research promotion services to their SciPris customers.

Under this partnership, authors who have their articles approved for publication can use Aptara’s SciPris platform to access Editage’s research promotion services. With this new partnership between Aptara and Editage, publishers can empower authors with further professional services after the manuscript is accepted for publication, at the point of payment of article processing charges (APCs). By offering services like infographics, video summaries, plain language summaries, and research news stories, Aptara and Editage will be able to support authors in their ability to promote the published paper and thus help extend the reach and impact of their research.

Commenting on the partnership, Donald Samulack, Head, Global Stakeholder Engagement at CACTUS said, “This strategic partnership between Editage and APTARA will be a game-changer in the narrative for publishers surrounding APC fees. Offering a suite of professional services related to research promotion at the point of APC payment empowers the author with tools to communicate their research findings to a broader audience.” Samulack goes on to say, “Researcher engagement with audiences beyond traditional peers, helps to inform adjacent peers, the public, and policymakers. These are all tenets of Open Science and help to foster an expansion of research impact.”

Samir Kakar, President of Aptara adds, “Today’s agreement with Editage represents the continued expansion of the SciPris ecosystem and commitment to creating an immersive user experience for authors.” Kakar continues, “The high-quality research communication services Editage brings to the table is a perfect extension to Aptara’s suite of end-to-end publishing services, and we look forward to continually enhancing this partnership.”
