Q: Can I resubmit a rejected paper to the same journal?

Detailed Question -

I submitted a paper to a journal (IF is about 4.7), but it became “editor reject” in a few days with the comment that a more specialized journal was recommended. Then I submitted my paper to its parent journal (IF is about 6.6) and it became again “editor reject”, but it recommended a submission to the former journal which rejected my paper, and also a transfer service was attached. When I submitted to the parent journal, I told that my paper was rejected by the former journal. In this case, can I resubmit a paper to the former same journal which rejected my paper once?

It is possible to submit your paper to the same journal, but there is no point in doing so, unless you have extensively revised the paper. Since the journal has already evaluated your paper and given a rejection decision, it would not make any sense to submit the same version of your paper to the same journal once again. They have already conveyed their decision to you. I don't think that decision is likely to change if you submit the same paper again. In fact, it would just be a waste of time and effort for both you and the journal's editorial team. However, if you have revised the paper extensively since the last submission, you can consider submitting it again.
