Once you have conducted your research, you must write it in the form of a manuscript and get it published in a peer reviewed journal in your field. This involves several steps.
1. You need to write your manuscript in a special style that is suitable for academic publication. This is known as the IMRaD structure.
2. Once your manuscript is ready, you have to select a suitable journal for submitting your paper.
3. You have to then submit your paper to the journal, either through the online submission system or over email.
3. The manuscript will be evaluated by external the journal with the help of peer reviewers and will be accepted, rejected, or sent back to you for revisions. The journal evaluation process from submission to final decision is elaborate and time consuming.
4. If your paper is rejected, you can submit it to another journal. If it is accepted (usually after several rounds of revision), it will be sent for copyediting.
5. Once the copyediting is done, you will receive the page proofs. You will have to proofread these and send the final version to the journal.
6. Once this is done, your paper will be published in the next issue of the journal.
