Q: Does rapid status change after resubmission imply rejection?

Detailed Question -

I submitted a manuscript to a journal of Karger as a corresponding author. The first decision was major revision and we just resubmitted a revised manuscript. After resubmission, the status was changed from “Under review” to “Decision pending” only in a week. Does this rapid status change imply rejection?

Answer:

Not necessarily. The initial stage is generally to check if all the necessary files have been received and whether the submission is complete. A rapid change could also indicate that everything looks fine based on a cursory check.
