Q: How do I find out the exact current status of an updated manuscript I sent?
I recently sent a manuscript to a Hindawi journal, but made a mistake. The Associate Editor (AE) told me to correct the mistake. I did so, but the problem is that when I track the status of the paper now, the one with the mistake is being shown. I cannot find the corrected one. The previous one is seen as ‘Under Review.’ Please help me know how to find out the status of the new one.
This does happen when an updated manuscript is submitted as part of the initial submission. It may be that the AE has sent the updated manuscript for review, but not updated this in the system. Alternatively, there may be a glitch in the system. You should ideally be able to view the exact status. But if you can’t and want to make sure the updated/current version has been sent, you may write to the AE. As you would have developed some rapport by now (as they asked you to change and resubmit), they should be especially fine with responding to your query.
