Q: The status shows "Reviews completed" but the editor is not replying. What should I do?

Detailed Question -

Our paper, submitted in April to a Springer journal, was under review till September 21. Even though it is past three weeks, there is no reply. We wrote to the editor and were told that the paper is under editorial decision. But the online tracking  system shows the status "Reviews completed."

Answer:

Your question is not very clear. I am assuming that you wrote to the editor after the status changed to "Reviews completed." Since the editor has replied to your email it is best to go by what the editor says. Sometimes, the status descriptions may not be very clear. Since the editor has said that the paper is under editorial decision, you should wait for a couple of weeks more. If there is no change in status or if you don't receive a decision letter by then, you can write to the editor again asking for a status update.

'reviews completed' in a springer journal ,in my opinion is a bad signe (hope not for you) for me this status has take 3 weeks, after that a rejection mail sended. hope your paper will be accepted
Answer: I have the same problem. I sent a manuscript to the new generation computing(Springer).Official speed metric: Number of days from submission of the manuscript to first decision is 16 days. However, I have been waiting for the first decision for a long time (170 days). Four months ago, the status changed to ‘Reviews Completed.’ However, the status has remained unchanged ever since. I sent my manuscript to this journal because of Official speed metric, but they have been writing lies.
