In this segment, Euan explains how Altmetric captures data in different ways from global social media platforms, with a particular focus on Asian countries. He discusses the need to aggregate altmetrics data such that users are able to understand the true impact of research. Further, speaking about the need for change in academic publishing, Euan mentions that the academic community needs to develop a better understanding of impact and shift focus from numbers to start telling stories about research instead.
