Q: What does the change from “Awaiting AE Decision” to “Awaiting Decision” mean?
Detailed Question -
From the change of status above, does it mean that the AE rejects the paper and then send it to the EiC to confirm the decision?

Based on my most recent experience, my paper got rejected (first decision). The paper status changed as per outlined in the question.
