Q: What is the meaning of "the paper has been provisionally accepted for publication"?
4 months after submitting a major revision, I have received the following mail: “Thank you for resubmitting your paper to IET Science, Measurement & Technology. The resubmitted paper has been reviewed again by independent experts. Having considered the reviews, I am pleased to inform you that the paper has been provisionally accepted for publication subject to minor revisions being made in response to the reviewers’ comments given below.” What is the probability of final acceptance or rejection?
Provisional acceptance means that your manuscript has been accepted assuming that you make the minor revisions recommended by the reviewers. It is an assured acceptance as long as you make those remaining revisions. Do make the recommended revisions and re-submit the revised manuscript along with your responses to the reviewer comments. Congratulations on your conditional acceptance!
