Q: Why did the status date for my revised manuscript submission change twice while the status remained 'Editor Assigned'?
I submitted my revised manuscript to the journal after incorporating the reviewer's comments (for major revisions). The status changed to ‘Editor Assigned’ after one day of submission. Then, the date changed after 10 days, but the status was still ‘Editor Assigned.’ What does this mean?
This possibly means that the Associate Editor (AE) was assigned the day after you submitted the revised manuscript but that they accessed the manuscript 10 days later. They may have accessed it to have a quick glance at the revised manuscript. Next, they will probably assign it to the peer reviewer(s) to check the revised manuscript. You could wait for a few weeks to know what the next status is. If however the status doesn’t change in this period, you could write to the AE requesting an update.
