Q: What does the status ‘in press’ mean?

1 Answer to this question

Answer: The status "in press" usually appears after the paper has been accepted for publication. It means that your paper is now in the final stages of production: typesetting, HTML, etc. If you have not yet received the page proofs, you will receive them soon. If you have already submitted the corrected proofs, your paper will be published (at least online) soon. Note that at this stage, no more content changes except for minor layout fixes will be allowed.
